What is Ashiatsu?  Why Deep Feet?

Ashiatsu is massage applied with the therapist's bare feet. Translated, ashiatsu simply put, means foot pressure. Throughout the world and throughout history, various forms of barefoot massage have been practiced. Deep Feet Bar Therapy is a western adaptation of eastern barefoot techniques. Utilizing compressive force and increasing circulation, Ashiatsu certification from Deep Feet Bar Therapy requires additional training and clinical hours beyond state licensure. Earning an Ashiatsu certification from Deep Feet Bar Therapy, accredited by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, (NCBTMB), Rachael has completed all levels of Deep Feet Bar Therapy courses and has earned their Master Certification.

Who is behind Raspberry Lane Studios?

Rachael L Hagen, LMT, CMT CA-75425 is a licensed massage therapist in Colorado and California.  Rachael is a graduate of IntelliTec College Grand Junction.  She received Ashiatsu certification from Deep Feet Bar Therapy under Christy Bebout, direct student of Ruthie Piper Hardee, founder of Deep Feet Bar Therapy.  Rachael grew up in Alaska and learned to massage as a young child, around the age of eight years old, creating spa packages and flow sequencing through helping siblings with aches and pains, including migraine headaches.  Around the age of twelve years old, Rachael was introduced to Ashiatsu techniques when a sibling returned from studying overseas and guided Rachael through what she later learned in Ashiatsu training to be some of the basics in safety and positioning.   She is an advocate for prevention and awareness of intimate partner abuse.  Through her own healing, she has studied nervous system processing, emotional regulation.  She understands that healing occurs in physical, mental, emotional and spiritual capacities and holds space for others to find their level of healing, in the order/capacity that they may be seeking, integrating healing with somatic experiences via massage/bodywork.  Rachael is a certified yoga instructor.  She has trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, enjoys weightlifting, knitting, spinning wool, creating memories and experiencing adventures. You can find her on hiking trails with her dogs, on Instagram reading poetry and sharing resources for healing.   @raspberrylanestudios.
